POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER

I am a postdoctoral researcher in Jamie Near’s lab at Douglas Hospital’s Brain Imaging Center, co-supervised by Dr. Alain Gratton. I have received my BSc and MSc at Carleton University (Ottawa, ON), and PhD in Psychology (Neuroscience) from Concordia University's Centre for Studies in Behavioural Neurobiology (Montreal, QC) under the supervision of Drs. Wayne Brake and Dave Mumby, where I looked at the effects of estrogen on the dopaminergic system in rat models of schizophrenia.  I was fortunate to spend the summers of 2013 and 2014 In Drs Sue Carter and Craig Ferris’ labs at Northeastern University's Center for Translational NeuroImaging in Boston (MA), where I was trained in awake rodent neuroimaging. My main postdoctoral focus is to: a) develop novel approaches to awake rodent imaging, b) combine optogenetics with fMRI and MRS in awake rodents, and c) investigate the effects of chronic exposure to inhaled cannabis in rats using fMRI, DTI, MRS and behaviour.
